BraedenV had unofficially stepped into the EDM scene early 2025, with a string of live mixed events. But with the surprise release of new track, 'Conscious', he may have made the transition into a new sound entirely.
The track begins with a compelling sample from a speech by Canadian artist Grimes, setting a reflective tone. The sample is not just an introduction; it serves as a thematic foundation for the entire piece as a chopped clip of her speech becomes the key phrase in the track.
A Repetitive Mantra
BraedenV skillfully chops Grimes' voice, transforming it into a mantra-like refrain that resonates throughout 'Conscious'. This repetitive element enhances the meditative quality of the track, allowing listeners to immerse themselves in the soundscape. The use of Grimes' voice in this way exemplifies BraedenV's ability to blend captivating beats with powerful use of phrasing, creating a unique listening experience that isn't quite techno, but is close to it.
Cinematic Production
The production quality of 'Conscious' is nothing short of cinematic. BraedenV layers rich textures and sounds that evoke a sense of movement and emotion. The track builds gradually, incorporating various electronic elements that keep the listener engaged. From atmospheric synths to pulsating basslines, every component is meticulously crafted to enhance the overall mood. This track will go very well attached to video thought-pieces.
More to Come?
BraedenV's 'Conscious' showcases his potential as an EDM artist, and he's been teasing much more. A previously unknown snippet has been identified by name, "No Sunlight".
The snippet heard sounds like a similar track to 'Conscious' where the vocal is a sample rather than BraedenV's own voice. The snippet was a house-style groove with acid-bass influence.
BraedenV has been very vocal about his recent love for DJ'ing. Expect to see the self-proclaimed raver bouncing around energetically in the booth more in the future.
